About Us and What We Offer

Our Purpose:

Our LEGACY is the impact we make on the world around us.

"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others"

-Pericles

Build

At Legacy Taekwondo we believe the legacy we leave to the world is important and we work hard to teach the skills, values, and morals that are required to BUILD a great legacy and help others to BUILD theirs.

Honor

Each person can be positively influenced by the legacy of another.  We teach our students how to HONOR each other and the legacies each of us are creating. It is important to HONOR the legacies that each individual contributes to the world.

Protect

We also believe it is important to do what it takes to PROTECT the legacy we create. We should not do anything to lessen the value our legacy provides the world nor should we allow others to diminish it. We teach the mental and physical skills necessary to PROTECT our own legacy and that of others.

A World Taekwondo and Kukkiwon Certification School

World Taekwondo Training

At Legacy Taekwondo we teach WT-style Taekwondo to students ranging from age 5 or 6 (depending on ability to follow directions) to adult. We focus on traditional kicking and striking techniques, Taegeuk forms, and Olympic-style sparring, each following Kukkiwon standards. WT is the abbreviation for World Taekwondo. This is the international sports federation responsible for the organization and governance of WT-style (aka Olympic-style or Kukkiwon-style) Taekwondo as a sport.

Kukkiwon Certification

Kukkiwon is the organization sponsored by the South Korean government to define the style and technique for WT-style Taekwondo. When our students earn their Black Belt, they will receive a Kukkiwon certificate and ID. This means that their rank will be recognized on a global level, not just locally. They will be able to go to any Kukkiwon school and have their rank recognized and honored. Without this certificate, there would be no guarantee that their rank would be recognized by other WT-style schools.
